Job summary

Absolute Taste is seeking a Lead People Operations Manager for The Open Championship, based in Bicester with travel to events. The role oversees recruitment, rostering, training, payroll and onsite staff welfare to ensure an exceptional guest and worker experience aligned with our standards and values.

Qualifications

• Progressive People Operations management experience in fast-paced environments such as large events or venues.
• Knowledge of recruitment activities and employment law compliance throughout onboarding.
• Strong financial capability in labour forecasting and staffing cost control.
• Familiarity with scheduling software and cloud-based WFM, LMS, ATS and payroll systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an end-to-end event resource plan aligned with client expectations and operational demands.
• Produce accurate financial forecasts for variable labour, training, travel, and accommodation.
• Create staff rosters based on event demands and employee availability; assign shifts in the workforce system.
• Lead onsite People Operations activities including accreditation, check-in, welfare, uniform distribution and support.
• Plan and direct the employee rewards program for the event and drive improvements post-event.
