Job summary

Andersen EV, based in Stewartby, Bedfordshire, is seeking a Senior Electronics Hardware Engineer to lead hardware design for EV charging products. The role covers circuit design, schematic capture, PCB development, component selection, prototype bring-up, testing, EMC and production support.

You will work with firmware, software, mechanical, production and quality teams to deliver robust hardware. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the role is hands-on across the full development

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics or related discipline with hands-on hardware experience.
• Proven analogue and digital circuit design experience across product lifecycle.
• Hands-on PCB bring-up, debugging and fault finding.
• Experience with EMC, safety and product compliance standards.
• Proficient in circuit schematic capture and PCB design reviews.
• Experience with MCU-based products (ST, Espressif, Atmel/Microchip).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic circuits for charging products.
• Create and maintain schematics and PCB designs; document engineering work.
• Support PCB layout reviews and component selection.
• Carry out prototype bring-up, debugging and fault finding.
• Develop hardware test/validation plans and perform testing.
• Design for EMC and support pre-compliance testing.
• Assist with electrical safety, regulatory and product certification.
• Investigate hardware failures using structured engineering methods.
• Support manufacturing with PCB and electronics issues; improve test methods.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, production and quality teams.
