Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Principal Vehicle Charging Systems Engineer to lead charging feature development for next-generation battery-inverter technology. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across hardware, software and test to deliver integrated charging solutions.

The role requires MBSE, SysML and Enterprise Architect skills, with expertise in high-voltage charging and vehicle-to-grid. Hybrid working in Birmingham is offered; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Degree-level engineering or physics qualification.
• Experience in automotive or electrification systems.
• Strong MBSE and model-driven engineering capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead charging feature development across hardware/software teams.
• Translate stakeholder needs into detailed technical requirements.
• Provide expertise in AC/DC charging and vehicle-to-grid.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, software and test engineers.
• Develop SysML models and maintain interface definitions.
• Support FMEA at system and design level.
• Ensure compliance with EH&S and quality standards.
