Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Systems Integration and Test Engineer for a contract role in the automotive sector. Based in the West Midlands, you will lead design verification planning, hands-on testing, and data collection across batteries, inverters, motors and charging equipment.

You will create and maintain DVPs/DVMs, plan automotive system tests, and support cross-functional delivery with the Systems and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, ideally control/electrical/electronic
• Experience in systems design and/or electrical/electronic engineering
• Experience testing automotive systems, hardware-in-the-loop rigs or vehicles
• Understanding of Systems Engineering processes, including the Systems V-model
• Familiarity with systems engineering tools such as Enterprise Architect, Jama or Medini
• Experience with test automation, diagnostics or fault injection tools (PEAK CAN, Vector, LabVIEW)
• Good understanding of high-voltage safety and safety protocols

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Design Verification Plans and Methods with cross-functional teams
• Develop practical test plans for automotive systems and components
• Plan and deliver hands-on testing across hardware-in-the-loop rigs and vehicles
• Support measurement, instrumentation and data collection
• Collaborate with Build/Test Operations and Systems teams for cross-functional delivery
• Analyze test data, identify issues and assist root-cause analysis
• Produce test documentation and status reports
• Support systems integration, verification and validation per safety and quality standards
