Job summary

Veolia is seeking an Estimator to lead all cost estimation activities for its Energy Projects Development Team. You will act as the SME for cost estimating across the IWE Projects Delivery Team and develop standardised estimation processes and best practices.

Responsibilities include planning, preparing and presenting estimates, balancing tender pricing with realistic delivery costs, and working closely with Business Development and technical teams to understand customer requirements and supply

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior or lead cost estimating role across energy, infrastructure, engineering or project delivery environments.
• Strong understanding of cost-estimating methodologies and selecting approaches for different project stages.
• Experience producing, reviewing and presenting detailed cost estimates with assumptions, risk allowances and contingencies.
• Commercial awareness: balance tender pricing with realistic project delivery costs.

Responsibilities

• Lead all cost estimation activities for the Energy Projects Development Team.
• Act as the subject matter expert for cost estimating across the wider IWE Projects Delivery Team.
• Develop, formalise and standardise cost-estimating processes, tools and best practices.
• Select the most appropriate estimating strategy based on project requirements and information.
• Plan, prepare and review cost estimates, including overseeing others as needed.
• Present clear, professional cost estimates with credibility and defined contingencies.
• Balance competitive pricing with robust, realistic estimates to support delivery.
• Collaborate with Business Development, Technical Direction and other stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with key supply chain partners to support estimating.
• Ensure learning is fed back to improve future estimates.
• Provide estimating support to project delivery teams, including variations and change control.
