Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support commercial control on energy upgrade projects. This hybrid role involves travel to the Bath area while working from home, with a focus on contracts, bids, cost control and risk management.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, mentor staff, and ensure commercial interests are protected across multiple contracts in the Industrial, Water and Energy sectors.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in supporting stakeholder management and problem solving.
• Relevant HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Thorough knowledge of forms of contract including NEC, JCT, IChemE.
• Experience working for a main contractor, within the Industrial, Water and/or Energy sectors.
• Multi discipline experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Working on energy performance upgrade projects.
• Take responsibility for the commercial control of a number of contracts, bids and processes.
• Identify risks, liabilities and commitments within contracts and communicate impact.
• Ensure commercial interests of the delivery team are protected.
• Lead, mentor, and manage staff within the team.
• Estimate and implement effective cost control mechanisms.
• Lead sub contract management – enquiry, drafting, measure, valuation and payment.
• Lead project procurement and provide timely management reports.
