Job summary

Pinnacle Recruitment partners with an established civil engineering contractor to appoint an experienced Estimator. You will join the commercial and pre-construction team to prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive tender submissions for civil, rail and energy projects.

The role requires reviewing drawings, BOQs, and tender docs, conducting take-offs, and liaising with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Estimator in civil engineering, infrastructure or construction.
• Experience pricing projects in rail, heavy civils, utilities, energy or infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labour, plant and subcontractor costs.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Experience undertaking quantity take-offs and preparing detailed cost breakdowns.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates and tender submissions for civil, rail and energy projects.
• Review drawings, specs, BOQs and tender docs to establish project requirements.
• Carry out quantity take-offs from drawings and technical information.
• Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations for competitive pricing.
• Develop cost plans, pricing schedules and tender breakdowns per project needs.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering in tender process.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to clarify scope and pricing.
• Coordinate with project managers and surveyors to reflect construction methods and delivery programmes.
• Prepare tender qualifications, assumptions, exclusions and supporting documentation.
• Assist with tender reviews and handovers to delivery team after award.
• Maintain estimating records and contribute to process improvements.
