Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group in Sheffield is seeking an experienced Estimator for a leading civil engineering contractor. You will play a central role in winning new work, interpreting drawings and preparing tender submissions.

You will source quotes, compile take-offs and bills of quantities, spot risks early, and act as the main contact for clients and internal teams throughout the tender process. A keen eye for commercial detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Background in estimating within construction, civil engineering or a similar field.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specs.
• Sharp commercial instincts with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and well-organised approach.

Responsibilities

• Build precise cost estimates and compile tender submissions.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and project documents.
• Source and assess quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Compile take-offs and bills of quantities.
• Identify risks and opportunities for value engineering.
• Act as a key contact for clients and internal teams during tenders.
• Hand over successful bids to the delivery team after award.
