IQVIA’s Global Epidemiology and Database Studies team has a vacancy for an epidemiologist. The team consists of over 80 epidemiologists across 20 countries. Job Overview
Work closely with global clients and other functional groups by providing epidemiology leadership for real-world studies across various designs and approaches, from early clinical development to post-approval stages. This includes, but is not limited to, natural history of disease, external comparators, and safety and effectiveness of drugs, biologics, and devices, under supervision of senior staff. Design methodologically sound studies to meet project objectives and stakeholder requirements (e.g., regulatory, payers). Provide input on data elements, study design, feasibility, and data landscaping. Conduct and review analyses, evaluate, and report study findings. Assignments range from providing feasibility input to developing study protocols and reports, ensuring data quality and scientific rigor. May contribute to business development efforts to maintain and grow client relationships.
Essential Functions
• Lead design and implementation of epidemiology/pharmacoepidemiology methods in real-world studies, including drug safety and effectiveness studies.
• Support senior staff on research initiatives.
• Serve as project lead on smaller projects or support larger projects.
• Author protocols, reports, and study documents, ensuring quality and timeliness.
• Review and contribute to statistical analysis plans and outputs.
• Provide epidemiology input for CRF/eCRF development and other project tasks.
• Interact with clients alongside senior staff.
• Identify and escalate issues related to clients, budgets, or internal processes.
• Contribute to process improvements and best practices.
• Support business development proposals.
• Represent IQVIA at conferences.
• Oversee or conduct statistical analyses as needed.
• Assist in developing proposals and internal initiatives.
Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, public health, pharmacy, or related field with 5 years of relevant experience, or
• Ph.D. with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong methodological training in observational health research.
• Ability to design and conduct observational studies.
• Excellent communication skills; medical writing experience beneficial.
• Effective in a global, matrixed environment.
• Attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
• Collaborative team player.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Edge; familiarity with SAS, R, or similar tools.
• Highly organized and self-motivated.
