Uniper is seeking a senior environmental permits manager in Birmingham to lead permitting for UK energy projects, manage external consultants, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will provide expert UK ETS guidance, drive carbon reporting, and collaborate with regulators to shape permitting strategies.

The role requires strong project leadership, stakeholder management, and a deep understanding of UK environmental legislation across energy and infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• Significant practical experience of UK ETS including permit management and reporting.
• Experience leading planning and Environmental Permitting Regulations applications.
• Ability to develop regulatory permitting strategies aligned with project delivery.
• Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.

Responsabilités

• Lead coordination and delivery of environmental permits and consents for UK energy generation projects.
• Manage external consultants performing environmental assessments for permit applications.
• Provide specialist advice on environmental permitting and UK ETS requirements.
• Lead UK ETS monitoring, reporting and verification cycle for the Uniper UK Generation fleet.
• Maintain and improve carbon reporting processes and governance.
• Maintain relationships with regulators and external partners.
• Support horizon scanning and development of internal guidance on emerging regulations.
