Job summary

Essar Energy Transition (EET) is seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist at Stanlow/Merseyside to guide environmental strategy across major infrastructure projects. You will work with project teams, consultants and regulators to secure approvals and ensure compliant, sustainable delivery.

Reporting to the Environmental Lead, you will manage environmental deliverables, oversee permitting and EIAs, and promote continuous improvement in environmental stewardship and governance across the

Qualifications

• Experience supporting major infrastructure, industrial, energy or engineering projects within a complex regulatory environment.
• Knowledge of UK environmental legislation, permitting and planning frameworks.
• Experience delivering EIAs, permitting applications and compliance activities.
• Demonstrable project management with on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder management with regulators, consultants and senior leaders.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Support and deputise for Environmental Lead across a portfolio of major projects.
• Lead environmental deliverables for planning applications and EIAs.
• Manage specialist environmental consultants and support contracts.
• Coordinate environmental activities across the project lifecycle with PMs.
• Build relationships with regulators, local authorities and external advisors.
• Provide technical expertise on environmental legislation and permitting obligations.
• Produce, review and assure technical environmental reports for stakeholders.
• Monitor regulatory developments and drive continuous improvement.
• Contribute to environmental performance monitoring and KPI reporting.
