Placements24 is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer for a fully remote role to deliver EIAs, EMPs and regulatory compliance for a diverse client base. You will lead projects, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with stakeholders around the world.

The ideal candidate should have 7+ years in environmental consulting, strong knowledge of South African environmental legislation, and a proven ability to manage remote workflows while communicating complex findings clearly.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with emphasis on EIAs and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to lead and manage complex environmental projects.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and EIA processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage EIAs and Basic Assessments (BAs).
• Develop Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and monitoring programs.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations across projects.
• Conduct audits, site assessments, and risk evaluations.
• Prepare environmental reports including impact assessments and closure plans.
• Provide expert guidance on best practices and mitigation measures.
• Manage timelines, budgets, and client communications for projects.
• Collaborate with clients and regulators virtually.
• Mentor junior scientists and engineers.
