Placements24 client, a leading international consultancy focused on energy infrastructure, seeks a Senior Power Systems Engineer for a fully remote role. You will analyze, design, and optimize power networks, including generation, transmission, and distribution, with emphasis on reliability and grid code compliance.

The position offers high impact, mentorship to junior engineers, and collaboration with a global team from your home office in South Africa.

Competenze

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in power systems engineering.
• Proven experience with PSS/E, ETAP or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
• Strong knowledge of protection, control and operation of power networks.
• Ability to work independently on multiple remote projects.

Mansioni

• Perform detailed power system analysis: load flow, short circuit, stability.
• Design and specify protection schemes and relay settings.
• Develop designs for generation plants, transmission lines, distribution networks.
• Conduct feasibility studies and recommend upgrades or expansions.
• Lead technical projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with clients to define requirements and ensure delivery.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, SANS and other standards.
• Stay updated on new technologies and grid developments.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
