Job summary

Balfour Beatty VINCI is seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to support HS2 Midlands delivery in Birmingham. You will work with RWD and MEP teams to integrate environmental requirements, mentor junior staff, and ensure regulatory compliance across ecology, water, waste and air quality on a major civil project.

The role offers flexible working options, with a strong focus on safety, collaboration and delivering complex environmental solutions in a challenging urban setting.

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental or scientific discipline is required
• Experience as Environmental Advisor on construction sites, preferably HS2
• Strong knowledge of EMS, procedures and processes
• Good planning, organisation and task delivery skills

Responsibilities

• Support RWD and MEP construction teams and integrate environmental requirements
• Promote environmental objectives and best practice
• Mentor Environmental Advisors to develop capability
• Advise projects on ecology, water, waste, air quality and regulatory compliance
• Ensure compliance with environmental and contractual obligations
• Develop EMS documentation and ensure processes are implemented
• Collaborate with sublot teams to manage environmental risks
• Coordinate regulatory visits and ensure actions are closed out
• Liaise with regulators and stakeholders to ensure compliance
• Develop practical environmental mitigation measures for delivery
