Job summary

Balfour Beatty VINCI seeks an Environmental Coordinator to support HS2 in the Midlands. You will liaise with environmental specialists, lead environmental topics on Sub-Lots, and ensure compliance with EMRs and environmental conditions.

This role requires experience with large-scale linear projects, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate with subcontractors. Based in Birmingham with flexible working options, you will contribute to zero harm and sustainability on a major

Qualifications

• Experience on large-scale linear projects (rail or highway).
• Significant experience with a consulting engineer, main civil contractor, or environmental contractor.
• Experience of environmental design and mitigation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Environmental Substantiality team specialists to advise on environmental constraints and HS2/legal requirements.
• Raise awareness of key environmental issues and input into site training.
• Engage with sub-contractors to embed environmental requirements in their packages.
• Provide and facilitate writing of site environmental documentation.
• Investigate incidents/non-conformances and share lessons learned.
• Coordinate with EMR team to ensure compliance with EMRs and U&A through checklists and notes.
• Discharge environmental conditions with Consent and U&A teams as needed.
• Collaborate with all parties to deliver responsibilities and drive Zero Harm.
