Job summary

HS2 Ltd. is seeking an environmental professional to join the Midlands team, supporting BBV JV on major infrastructure delivery (bridges, tunnels, viaducts).

The role emphasizes reducing environmental impact across Sub-Lots and coordinating with multiple stakeholders in a complex urban setting. Applicants should bring experience on large linear projects, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to compliance and site training.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental design and mitigation.
• Large scale linear project experience (rail/highway).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High standard of computer literacy.
• Confidence to challenge designs prepared by others.
• Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Environmental Substantiality core team specialists to advise on environmental constraints, HS2 requirements, and topics across Sub-Lot(s).
• Raise awareness of key environmental issues and input into site training.
• Coordinate with Enabling Works Contractor on environmental coordination and handover for Sub-Lot(s).
• Engage with sub-contractors and their environmental reps to embed requirements within their packages of work.
• Prepare site environmental documentation and investigate incidents/non-conformances.
• Ensure compliance with EMR via EMR Compliance Checklist/Note and with Consent/U&A teams for discharge of conditions.
• Gather information for Dust Risk Assessments, Noise & Vibration Assessments, and other environmental documents.
