Job summary

Admiral Group Plc seeks a Senior Engineering Manager - MarTech to lead engineering across Adobe and Smartcomms platforms, shaping roadmaps and delivering secure, scalable digital experiences for UK customers.

You will manage Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers, partner with Product, Marketing, Data and Architecture, drive DevSecOps and GenAI initiatives, and ensure delivery excellence with strong stakeholder updates to senior leadership.

Job description

As Senior Engineering Manager - MarTech, you’ll provide technical, people and delivery leadership across our Adobe and Smartcomms platforms, which support customer personalisation, digital experiences and communications across UK Customer and Group.

You’ll lead Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers, shape the direction and roadmap of our MarTech platforms, and work closely with Product, Marketing, Data, Architecture and other technology teams. You’ll ensure our platforms are secure, resilient, scalable and delivering the right outcomes for our customers and the business.

Main Duties

• Lead engineering across the Adobe and Smartcomms platform portfolio, aligning priorities, resources and delivery to business outcomes.
• Lead, coach and develop Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers, building strong technical and leadership capability.
• Shape the strategy, technical direction and roadmaps for AEP, AEM, EDS and Smartcomms.
• Support the delivery of customer personalisation, digital experiences and customer communications across multiple channels.
• Ensure platforms are secure, resilient, scalable, accessible and maintainable, with effective live-service and incident management.
• Maintain strong engineering, architecture, testing and release standards, working closely with Cyber, Risk, Architecture and Service teams.
• Manage strategic suppliers and technology partners, including Adobe and Smartcomms.
• Oversee budgets, workforce capacity, forecasting and investment decisions across the portfolio.
• Provide clear updates to senior stakeholders on delivery, platform health, risks, dependencies and outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, DevSecOps, platform engineering, quality engineering and GenAI.

Essential Skills

• Significant experience leading engineering across multiple teams or technology platforms, including Engineering Managers and senior technical specialists.
• Strong understanding of MarTech, digital experience and customer personalisation technologies.
• Proven experience leading complex technology delivery, balancing customer outcomes, technical quality, risk and cost.
• Strong operational leadership, with experience owning reliable, secure and scalable technology services.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical, business and senior leadership teams.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with the Adobe ecosystem, particularly AEP, AEM and/or Edge Delivery Services.
• Experience with Smartcomms or similar customer communications platforms.
• Experience integrating MarTech platforms with customer data, CRM, identity, consent, APIs or digital channels.
• Knowledge of privacy, data governance and security within customer-facing technology.
• Experience managing technology suppliers, budgets and commercial relationships.
• Knowledge of modern engineering practices including DevSecOps, automation, platform engineering and GenAI.
• Relevant Adobe, cloud, architecture, Agile or service-management certifications.
