Job summary

World Leading Construction and Civil Engineering Company in Plymouth is seeking a Senior Engineer to join a major civil project on a permanent basis. The role focuses on reviewing drawings and subcontractor docs (ITP, RAMS) and ensuring safe, compliant progress.

You will drive constructability improvements, oversee risk reviews, and align milestones with the master schedule while maintaining thorough site records and liaison with Client/Designer/Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Experience with civil engineering construction techniques and sequencing.
• Familiarity with construction contracts and contractual processes.
• HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Review specifications and drawings, and documents from subcontractors (ITP, RAMS).
• Ensure ITPs, risk assessments and method statements are implemented and adhered to.
• Propose constructability optimisations and high level construction methodologies to support procurement, interface management and approvals (logistics, noise, access).
• Monitor effectiveness of the H&S management system and support resource allocation planning.
• Assist the Package Manager to lead risk/opportunity reviews and maintain the Risk Register.
• Ensure milestones reflect master schedule and client expectations.
• Maintain a detailed daily site diary, including changes/variations and attendance records.

My client is a World Leading Construction and Civil Engineering Company.

They are currently looking to recruit, on a permanent basis, a Senior Engineer to join their team who are presently delivering a major Civil Engineering project in Plymouth, Devon.

Duties

• Review specifications & drawings, as well as documents prepared by the subcontractor (ITP, RAMS).
• Ensure that inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works are being implemented and adhered to.
• Propose any optimisations of constructability, producing high level construction methodologies to support procurement, interface management and early consenting requirements (logistics, noise, access etc)
• Monitor effectiveness of the H&S management System
  Develop/monitor/report against resource allocation plans in line with scope and outputs
• Assist the Package Manager to lead risk/opportunity reviews, present the Risk Register and recommend/implement changes
• Ensure production of operational milestones reflect master schedule and customer expectations
• Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes / variations, subcontractors' attendance, and records of work-related discussions with Client / Designer / Supply Chain / Project Team.

Person Specification
