Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Energy Storage Systems Specialist to join the team in Randburg. You will design, implement and optimize cutting-edge energy storage solutions, collaborating with engineers, project managers and clients to enhance grid stability and renewable integration.

The role involves sizing, testing, and commissioning ESS across utility-scale and distributed projects, with a focus on reliability and performance. A strong background in battery tech and EMS is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in energy storage systems or power systems engineering.
• Proven experience with battery chemistries (e.g., Lithium-ion), inverters, and EMS.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify energy storage systems (ESS), including battery technologies, inverters, and control systems.
• Develop technical specifications, performance requirements, and testing protocols for ESS projects.
• Analyze grid requirements, load profiles, and renewable energy generation to optimize ESS sizing and operation.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and integration of ESS with existing energy infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide ongoing support for deployed energy storage solutions.
• Stay current with advancements in battery technology, power electronics, and grid integration standards.
