Job summary

BCL Legal is assisting a highly regarded national law firm to recruit an Employment Senior Associate in Birmingham. You will advise employers across a broad spectrum of matters, both contentious and non-contentious, while developing client relationships and contributing to the growth of the national practice.

The successful candidate will bring 5+ years' PQE, strong advocacy skills, and a commercial, pragmatic approach to advising clients in sectors including higher education, health, and sport.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' PQE in employment law from private practice or in-house.
• Strong knowledge of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
• Commercial, pragmatic approach to client advice.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to undertake advocacy and deliver client training.
• Genuine interest in business development and developing client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Advising employers on a broad range of employment matters, both contentious and non-contentious.
• Providing practical, commercially focused advice to a varied client base.
• Undertaking advocacy at Preliminary Hearings where appropriate.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Delivering client training, seminars, and legal updates.
• Supporting business development and contributing to team growth.
• Collaborating with experienced Employment partners and colleagues across the national practice.
• Working with a national team of 90+ employment lawyers on cross-office matters.
