Employment Senior Associate - Birmingham

BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a highly regarded national law firm on the recruitment of a Senior Associate to join its Employment team in Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Employment lawyer to join a top-ranked practice, advising a diverse client base across the commercial, higher education, health, sports and charitable sectors.

The Role

• Advising employers on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
• Providing practical, commercially focused advice across a varied client base.
• Undertaking advocacy at Preliminary Hearings where appropriate.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Delivering client training, seminars and legal updates.
• Supporting business development and contributing to the continued growth of the team.
• Working closely with experienced Employment partners and colleagues across the wider national practice.
• Opportunity to collaborate with a national Employment, Pensions and Immigration team of 90+ lawyers.

The Candidate

• Employment Solicitor with 5+ years' PQE, gained in a reputable private practice or in-house environment.
• Strong technical employment law knowledge and experience across both contentious and non-contentious matters.
• Commercial and pragmatic approach to client advice.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable undertaking advocacy and delivering client training.
• A genuine interest in business development and developing client relationships.
