Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Emergency Practitioner Team Lead. This role combines clinical practice with leadership, education and governance across the EDs at Birmingham Heartlands and Good Hope Hospitals.

You will lead the EP service, supervise learners, and drive service improvement while maintaining your clinical practice, with ad hoc support to Solihull UTC.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse or HCPC registered professional with relevant practice posts.
• Postgraduate training/competence in minor injury and illness management.
• Evidence of leadership, governance and education activity in practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of minor injuries/illnesses.
• Lead day-to-day management of the Emergency Practitioner service, staffing and patient flow.
• Supervise and mentor Emergency Practitioners and learners; support staff development.
• Lead quality improvement, audit and policy development within the service.
• Work across multiple sites with ad hoc support to UTCs as required.
