Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for the Head of Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR). You will provide Trust-wide leadership to protect patients, sustain essential care and strengthen organisational resilience.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations, you will lead the EPRR team, advise the executive and collaborate with clinical and operational leaders, building multi-agency partnerships to ensure preparedness, incident

Qualifications

Significant senior leadership experience in emergency preparedness, resilience, incident response or business continuity in a complex service-critical organisation.
Experience applying Framework and Core Standards to governance, risk management and assurance.
The judgement to advise senior decision-makers and secure action under pressure and uncertainty.
Proven ability to develop people, drive organisational change and build multi-agency partnerships.

Responsibilities

Set the strategic direction for EPRR across UHS, prioritising patient safety and resilience.
Establish clear expectations for preparedness and provide executive assurance on readiness and risks.
Advise executive and senior leaders on complex resilience issues and significant incidents.
Influence joint planning with NHS partners and lead cross-organisational improvements after exercises or incidents.
