Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 7 nurse to provide advanced autonomous nursing care in the Emergency Department. You will assess, diagnose, treat and refer patients within NMC guidelines, offering holistic care for acute minor injuries and illnesses.

The post may involve departmental management duties and leadership responsibilities, with responsibilities across the ED to ensure high standards of patient care and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Professional registration with NMC.
• Minor Injury qualification (BSc/MSc level).
• Higher level emergency care qualification (ALS/APLS/EPALs).

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, treat or refer patients with minor injuries and illnesses autonomously.
• Lead and support nursing teams within the ED.
• Plan workload and manage time to meet departmental needs.
• Provide clinical advice and leadership to staff and managers.
• Act as role model and resource for nursing roles and care models.
• Champion the minor injury team's high-standard communication and care.
