Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an advanced nurse practitioner to provide autonomous clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients presenting with minor injuries and illnesses in the Emergency Department, within the NMC code and trust guidelines.

Qualifications

• Autonomous practitioner with experience in minor injuries and illnesses.
• Prescribing where appropriate in line with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, treat or refer patients with minor injuries and illnesses as an autonomous practitioner, including prescribing where necessary.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless service delivery for patients.
• Plan own workload in an organised and effective manner with awareness of departmental needs.
• Provide clinical advice and leadership to the nursing teams, colleagues and managers as requested.
• Act as a role model and expert resource, developing nursing roles according to service development and evolving models of care.
• Lead by example to ensure compassionate and high-quality care aligned with trust values.
• Champion the minor injury team, liaising with Emergency Department colleagues to ensure excellent communication, care and continuity for patients and clinicians.
