Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Sister/Charge Nurse in Emergency Care (Band 6) to lead nursing teams in the ED and support the Medical Division across Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General.

The role includes 24-hour responsibility, professional leadership, bed management and ensuring high standards of patient care, safety and governance within a busy NHS Trust environment.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse in the UK with NMC/HCPC registration.
• Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
• Current life support certifications.
• Experience in acute/emergency department preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership to nurses and students.
• Lead bed management and patient flow in ED.
• Ensure safety, clinical governance and quality standards.
• Support staffing across Gloucester and Cheltenham EDs.
• Act as a role model and support staff development.
