Job summary

IC Resources in Cambridge, United Kingdom, is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to lead the design, architecture and delivery of complex software-enabled systems. This role suits engineers moving toward systems-level thinking while remaining closely involved in embedded software.

You will collaborate with software, electronics, systems and mechanical engineers to create innovative products across multiple industries, mentor colleagues and shape technical direction.

Qualifications

• Degree (2:1 or above) in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related subject.
• Commercial experience developing embedded software, firmware or device software.
• Experience working on complex embedded systems or hardware-based products.
• Strong understanding of systems architecture, integration and software design.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software and firmware for complex embedded devices and physical products
• Define software and system architectures for connected and embedded systems
• Lead technical delivery across software, electronics and systems engineering teams
• Solve integration, performance and reliability challenges across complex systems.
• Work closely with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to define technical solutions
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical decision-making and best practices
• Support the development of innovative technologies across a range of sectors and applications
