Job summary

TAE Power Solutions in Birmingham seeks a software test engineer to test Inverter and Motor Control / BMS / Charging software for demonstrator and production projects. You will guide junior engineers, help estimate new work, and liaise with customers and suppliers to deliver robust software solutions.

The role requires embedded firmware testing experience, strong document writing, and a collaborative approach to system integration testing across power electronics domains.

Qualifications

Experience applying embedded firmware testing to hardware interfaces.
Ability to author and review technical test documents and reports.
Experience with system integration testing and debugging.
Experience with safety standards and ISO 26262 guidance.

Responsibilities

Deliver technical software test activities to meet timescales and costs.
Provide debugging during development and ensure production-ready solutions.
Support embedded software testing for vehicle domains (powertrain, BMS, Charging).
Collaborate with suppliers and customers on technical requirements and feedback.
Mentor junior engineers and participate in planning and estimation.
