Job summary

Filtronic in Cambridge is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join a growing software engineering team. You will design, develop and integrate embedded software and firmware for advanced RF and communications products, with a strong focus on Zephyr-based development across embedded Linux, Yocto, and bare-metal environments.

You will work closely with RF, FPGA, hardware and systems engineers, contributing across the product lifecycle from concept to manufacture, with security,

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience in low-level embedded software and firmware.
• Experience with Zephyr is required.
• Prototype board bring-up and hardware/software integration.
• Ability to read circuit schematics and datasheets.
• Strong C and C++ skills for resource-constrained environments.
• Experience with CAN, SPI, I2C, UART and RS422.
• Good debugging with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, integrate and support embedded software across products.
• Develop embedded firmware using Zephyr and bare-metal environments.
• Develop and maintain embedded Linux systems including Yocto platforms.
• Prototype board bring-up and debugging.
• Define interfaces and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with hardware, FPGA and systems engineers.
