Job summary

Cambridge Science Park is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Product Software Team. You will develop C-based software for Linux-based embedded systems, spanning NIC and DSP stacks on ARM hardware, and collaborate across hardware, QA, and product teams.

You will mentor peers, shape architecture, and ensure robust software through code reviews, testing, and security practices including RoT/TPM integration and Yocto-based builds.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of embedded product development experience.
• Proficiency in C for Linux-based embedded systems.
• Experience with ARM microcontrollers.
• Familiarity with Yocto build systems.
• Experience maintaining Linux kernel and applying security patches.
• Experience with security concepts (RoT, TPM) and code signing.

Responsibilities

• Develop software in C for Linux-based embedded systems (NIC DSP stacks).
• Collaborate with Software Architect to shape system design and test criteria.
• Integrate software with hardware using I2C, UART, SPI, USB.
• Lead cross-functional planning and estimation of work packages.
• Produce project artefacts and regulatory/compliance documentation.
• Mentor engineers and improve development processes.
• Address customer-reported issues and deliver fixes.
