Job summary

TXM Recruit is seeking a Senior Software Design Engineer in the United Kingdom to design and develop embedded software for ARM-based platforms using RTOS. You will collaborate with Hardware Engineers to deliver robust, secure systems for next-generation products.

The role requires 5+ years in embedded software, strong C skills, and experience with Zephyr/FreeRTOS and wireless tech such as Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi/Zigbee. Hybrid on-site work is offered with flexible hours.

Qualifications

5+ years' embedded software development experience.
Strong C programming in RTOS environments.
Experience with Zephyr, FreeRTOS or similar RTOS.
Experience with Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi or Zigbee wireless tech.
ARM-based microprocessors and embedded development tools.
Experience with Git and Linux test environments.
Understanding of secure software development and encryption.

Responsibilities

Design and develop embedded software for ARM-based platforms using RTOS.
Define software requirements, architecture and design specs with hardware teams.
Debug, test and optimise embedded systems for performance and reliability.
Maintain documentation covering software design, testing and troubleshooting.
Support Linux-based application development and test simulations.
Stay up to date with emerging embedded technologies.
