Job summary

Riverlane seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for the Systems Team in Cambridge. You will bridge Riverlane with customers, enabling integration of the Deltaflow hardware and software stack with quantum computers, ensuring low-latency, high-throughput operation and robust debugging.

You will help implement Riverlane's QEC algorithms and support experiments, collaborating with mathematicians, physicists and engineers on cutting-edge QEC projects.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Experience with C, C++ or Python in embedded contexts.
• Proven SoC or embedded systems design experience.
• Proficiency with Python scripting preferred.
• Knowledge of Verilog, VHDL or SystemVerilog preferred.
• Curiosity about quantum computing and error correction.
• Solid understanding of hardware-software interfaces.
• Experience with version control, CI, unit tests, and debugging.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Mentoring junior engineers (not a people manager).

Responsibilities

• Pre/post-sales technical workshops and evaluation of customer software.
• End-to-end system deployment and integration with customer quantum hardware.
• Troubleshooting, debugging, and test environment updates.
• Advocate for customers and feed back features to the product team.
