Job summary

Riverlane is seeking a Quantum Error Correction Researcher to help develop the world’s first Quantum Error Correction (QEC) stack that will unlock useful quantum computing. You will work with mathematicians, physicists, computer scientists and software engineers on decoding algorithms, modeling noise, and validating ideas with numerical methods.

You will present results, write papers, and contribute to Riverlane's research output, collaborating across teams and with quantum hardware partners.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in a technical field or equivalent industry experience.
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to pursue open-ended theoretical problems from literature.
• Familiarity with quantum computing concepts.
• Experience with quantum error correction.
• Contributions to a research paper.

Responsibilities

• Learn about cutting-edge research in quantum computing and QEC.
• Develop novel decoding algorithms and techniques.
• Assess decoding challenges across qubit modalities and codes; design tailored approaches.
• Consider modeling of physical noise to improve decoding accuracy.
• Test and verify hypotheses, including numerical methods.
• Present results and share expertise with other Riverlane teams.
• Write papers and present work at conferences.
