Job summary

SR2 is seeking an Embedded Hardware Engineer I in Reading to design next‑gen navigation and embedded electronics. This hands‑on role focuses on PCB design and complex hardware/system development for aerospace‑grade environments.

You will collaborate with embedded firmware engineers, bring‑up hardware, and ensure signal integrity and power integrity across dense, multi‑layer boards using Altium Designer.

Qualifications

• Strong background in digital electronics and embedded hardware.
• Experience designing PCBs that have reached production or a qualified prototype stage.
• Strong high-speed digital design experience, including processors/SoCs, DDR memory and high-speed serial interfaces.
• Experience designing dense, multilayer PCBs yourself using Altium Designer or an equivalent CAD/PCB package.
• Practical understanding of signal integrity and power integrity.
• Experience with sensors and mixed-signal electronics.
• Strong hands‑on hardware bring‑up and debugging skills.
• Experience working closely with embedded firmware engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design complex PCBs and embedded electronic systems for navigation and related applications.
• Develop electronics for GPS-denied or GPS-jammed environments.
• Collaborate with embedded firmware engineers to bring-up and debug hardware.
• Ensure signal integrity and power integrity across multi‑layer boards.
