Job summary

All Space Limited, a leading satellite communications innovator, is seeking a skilled C++ embedded software engineer to join our Reading team. You will develop real-time software for embedded systems, implement tests, and debug on target hardware.

The role requires strong C++ experience, Linux/FreeRTOS familiarity, and hands-on hardware debugging. Hybrid working arrangement is possible with on-site presence at Reading sites.

Qualifications

• Strong C++ development for embedded real-time systems.
• Experience with full lifecycle development: design, development, testing, maintenance.
• Experience with Linux and FreeRTOS operating systems.
• Hands-on hardware debugging and performance characterization.

Responsibilities

• Perform requirements analysis with stakeholders to define technical functionality.
• Create architecture and design documentation for new software features.
• Deliver high-quality, tested software for embedded real-time systems in C++.
• Implement automated unit and integration tests.
• Test and debug on target hardware and in simulation.
• Lead investigation and timely resolution of software issues.
• Apply industry-standard design patterns for quality, security, and extensibility.
• Work within an Agile team and contribute to the software lifecycle.
• Own software features and help plan and execute roadmapped work.
• Present reports on progress to stakeholders as required.
• Mentor junior engineers and champion best practices.
