Job summary

ZENOVO LTD in Greater Manchester (hybrid) seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of robust products from concept through manufacture.

You will own projects, make key technical decisions and drive design reviews with a focus on manufacturability, cost efficiency and serviceability. Prototyping, testing and validation will be core activities, supported by SolidWorks and PDM.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong background in mechanical design engineering with a track record.
• Excellent CAD skills, especially SolidWorks.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal design and manufacturing methods.
• Hands-on prototype building, testing and modification experience.
• Familiarity with simulation tools like FEA/CFD and PDM systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and product development from concept to manufacture.
• Own projects, make key technical decisions and participate in design reviews.
• Design for manufacturability, cost efficiency, thermal performance and serviceability.
• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to meet requirements.
• Perform structural and thermal assessments to validate performance and compliance.
• Build, modify and test prototypes for validation and development.
• Produce 3D CAD models, technical drawings and BOMs using SolidWorks and PDM.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous process improvements.
