Job summary

Safran is seeking a Chief / Senior Principal Engineer to act as the technical authority for the Electro-Mechanical Actuation (EMA) product line within the Global Defence Systems value stream. You will provide technical leadership across the programme, ensuring customer requirements are met and engineering solutions are delivered throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience with EMA, control systems or power electronics in safety-critical environments.
• Aerospace or defence sector experience is preferred.
• Proven systems engineering capability across mechanical, electrical and software domains.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering programmes and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead EMA systems delivery and ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, safety and quality requirements.
• Own system architecture and governance across the full lifecycle from proposal to sustainment.
• Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams and drive timely problem solving.
• Act as primary technical interface with customers, suppliers and stakeholders for reviews and negotiations.
• Collaborate to define programme plans, milestones and qualification activities (PDR, CDR, certification).
• Ensure robust requirements, configuration and product safety management using DOORS.
• Support Operations, Quality and Supply Chain with investigations and continuous improvement.
• Review supplier designs and key engineering deliverables.
• Mentor engineers and promote a collaborative, innovative engineering culture.
