Job summary

Safran Engineering Services is seeking a Principal Electro-Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design of rotating machinery and electric machines. The role involves roadmap development, design reviews, and ensuring compliance with airworthiness standards during the product life cycle.

The position emphasizes market analysis, strategic roadmaps with R&T collaboration, and leading bid phase activities to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with product policy.

Qualifications

• Degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering preferred.
• Substantial experience in mechanical design of rotating machinery, ideally electric machines.
• Understanding of airworthiness requirements (EASA/FAA/RTCA).
• Solid understanding of the product development process.
• Track record leading NPIs with budgets as a lead or project engineer.
• Experience with design cost, design for manufacture and design for assembly.
• Experience using Catia V5, Windchill and Integrity.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the product line achieves and surpasses technical and economic performance objectives.
• Ensure the product meets customer requirements during the whole life cycle.
• Strategically analyse market trends to keep products market leading.
• Elaborate and maintain the product roadmap with R&T input.
• Identify and influence RTD studies related to the products you oversee.
• Chair design and technical reviews to uphold First Time Right.
• During bid phase, validate tender compliance to product policy and architecture.
