Job summary

Latent Edge Ltd in Ampthill, Bedfordshire is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join its defence engineering team on a permanent, on-site basis. You will work on complex electronics and take designs from concept through testing and delivery.

This hands-on role focuses on analogue, digital and mixed-signal circuits, PCB layouts, and power electronics. You will produce schematics, collaborate with mechanical and systems engineers, and develop robust documentation.

Qualifications

• HND, degree or equivalent in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
• Practical experience in electronic circuit design and development.
• Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronics.
• Hands-on experience with schematic capture and PCB design.
• Experience using Altium Designer, OrCAD or comparable electronic design software.

Responsibilities

• Design analogue, digital and mixed-signal circuits.
• Produce schematics and PCB designs using Altium/OrCAD or similar tools.
• Develop assemblies including DC power systems.
• Design and evaluate power electronics and circuit protection.
• Carry out circuit testing, debugging and fault investigation.
• Develop designs from requirements through verification and integration.
• Produce documentation including design specs and test reports.
• Support design reviews and work within development processes.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, manufacturing and test engineers.
