Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, is seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer for an initial 6-month on-site contract. The role covers design, development and support of mixed electrical/electronic solutions from concept to completion using a phase-gate process.

The candidate will produce technical documentation, lead electrical sub-assembly design for low/high power DC, perform analysis and testing, and work as part of a cross-functional team to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• Formal Electrical qualification such as HNC/HND/BEng.
• Experience of Electrical Hardware Design & Electrical Product Development for Harsh Environments.
• Electrical analysis of circuit protection, component derating and electrical stress.
• EMC and Environmental Awareness at system and circuit level.
• Awareness of Def-Stan/Mil Standards, Safety and Quality processes.
• Ability to support and manage aspects of Assembly, Integration and Test.
• Experience of working with lab test equipment, e.g. debug of Electrical circuits using DMM, Oscilloscope, Power supplies, Logic and Protocol Analysers .
• Experience of Windchill or other Product Lifecycle Management tool.
• Experience of Altium, Zuken E.3, SIMetrix and LTSpice would advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support electrical/electronic sub-assemblies from concept to completion.
• Produce technical documentation to support trade studies, requirements, compliance and test evidence.
• Analyse electrical circuits and protect harnesses; evaluate components and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in planning and testing phases.
