Job summary

Novanta Inc. in Stockport is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to lead the design of next‑generation analogue, digital and embedded hardware for laser technology and medical devices.

You will translate customer needs into robust hardware, drive verification and production qualification, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams. The role offers ownership of the full lifecycle from concept to production, mentoring of junior engineers, and ensuring EMC and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Significant industrial electronics development experience.
• Strong analogue and digital design knowledge.
• Embedded systems experience; PCB design and schematic capture.
• Experience using electronic laboratory equipment.
• Understanding EMC and product compliance requirements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and influence technical decisions.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and taking ownership of products from concept through to production. You will play a key role in the design and development of next‑generation electronics hardware, working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to create innovative products that make a measurable impact in global markets. You will be involved in architecture definition, design, testing, verification and product enhancement, helping shape the future direction of our technology platforms.

What you will be doing:

• Designing analogue, digital and embedded electronic systems
