Job summary

Novanta is seeking an RF Engineer in Stockport to design RF electronics for laser excitation systems and to drive development from concept through production. You will contribute to RF amplifier design, testing, measurement and reliable manufacturing handoffs.

You will work with cross-functional teams to translate performance data into actionable improvements and help ensure compliance with FCC and CE standards in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering required.
• Practical RF development experience essential.
• Experience taking products from concept through production.
• Strong RF amplifier knowledge and HF/VHF systems expertise.

Responsibilities

• Designing RF electronics for laser excitation systems.

The Opportunity

You will work at the forefront of RF development within a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for both new product innovation and continuous improvement. This role offers true technical depth, combining RF amplifier design, experimentation, testing and problem-solving in an environment where your expertise will directly influence product performance and reliability.

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (MSc advantageous)
• Practical RF development experience

• Expertise in HF/VHF systems
• PCB design and RF layout experience
• Understanding of FCC and CE compliance requirements
• Strong experimental and analytical problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
