Job summary

SP Energy Networks is seeking an experienced Site Manager (Electrical) to lead substation construction projects across Central and Southern Scotland. You will supervise contractor performance, ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery, and provide technical leadership on live electrical environments.

The role requires hands-on substation experience, strong IT skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders while maintaining compliance with Electrical Safety Rules.

Qualifications

• Hands-on substation experience in electrical transmission or distribution.
• Experience delivering high-voltage construction, maintenance or commissioning projects.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics and construction specs.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily site activities across multiple fronts.
• Ensure contractor compliance with HSE, ENV and QA requirements.
• Monitor progress against plans and milestones.
• Provide technical oversight during construction and commissioning.
• Review construction methods for alignment with designs.
• Manage work packages, records, inspections and quality docs.
• Support commercial management: time, cost and productivity.
• Build relationships with contractors and stakeholders for project delivery.
