Zusammenfassung

Southern Water is seeking a Senior Authorised Person to join the MEICA Technical Team across Sussex, Hampshire (and IOW) and Kent. The role focuses on safe operation and maintenance of HV/LV systems, implementing safe systems of work, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive electrical engineering experience in an industrial setting, with strong knowledge of safety, risk management, and statutory requirements.

Qualifikationen

• Significant electrical engineering experience in an industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety, risk management and statutory requirements.
• Advanced engineering qualification to HNC level or equivalent.
• Current or previous High Voltage operations training certification.
• Experience as Authorised Person or Senior Authorised Person is advantageous.

Aufgaben

• Act as SME on electrical safety, standards and procedures.
• Assess and appoint Authorised Persons and Competent Persons; support competency assessments.
• Create and maintain switching schedules for High Voltage sites.
• Carry out switching operations up to 11kV.
• Audit electrical work for compliance with standards and regulations.
• Investigate electrical and mechanical safety incidents and recommend improvements.
• Provide specialist technical advice to operations teams.
• Work with contractors and internal stakeholders to establish safe working arrangements.
• Support training and refresher training for Authorised Persons.
• Participate in standby rota to provide 24/7 technical support.
