Job summary

MAC Recruit Group Ltd is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to lead design and delivery of electrical systems for power generation and renewable energy projects. The role covers feasibility, design, through to commissioning, with a home-based setup and regular UK site travel.

Occasional international travel may be required as projects span multiple sites. You will liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams to ensure safe, compliant and cost-effective project execution.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience in power generation, renewables, or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of grid systems and electrical standards (IEC, BS7671).
• Experience with SCADA/control systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and MATLAB.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Chartered or working towards professional chartership.
• Experience with EfW, battery storage, solar, or wind projects.
• Understanding of project economics / commercial aspects.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for power, industrial, and renewable projects.
• Carry out feasibility studies and technical assessments.
• Support projects from concept to commissioning.
• Perform system modelling and optimisation.
• Develop control strategies (SCADA/process systems).
• Support testing, commissioning, and fault finding.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and HSE regulations.
