Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Professional engineering certification or chartered engineer status.
• Proven experience in engineering and implementation of power generation solutions.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems.
• Solid understanding of grid integration requirements and industry standards (IEC, ENA, BS7671).
• Proficiency in modelling and simulation software such as MATLAB or AutoCAD.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to resolve technical issues with innovative ideas.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations in energy generation.
• Familiarity with renewable energy technologies (Energy from Waste, solar, wind, storage).
• Understanding energy project financing and economic evaluation.
• Design and engineer electrical systems for grid-scale, commercial/industrial, and renewables.
• Conduct feasibility studies and provide independent advice and project oversight.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems into existing infrastructure.
• Model, simulate and optimise energy generation and storage systems.
• Develop control strategies ensuring safety and reliability.
• Stay updated with latest technologies, regulations and best practices.
• Support project development activities including site visits and data analysis.
• Perform testing, commissioning and troubleshooting for project and operations teams.
• Collaborate with utilities, regulators and suppliers to ensure project success.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas as required.
