Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is delivering a major Sellafield infrastructure program and seeks a Senior Project Engineer (Electrical) to lead technical delivery of complex electrical packages from definition to commissioning. You will coordinate design reviews, manage subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality and schedule targets are met while working closely with the Project Manager and client stakeholders.

The role requires UK standards knowledge, CSCS, and the ability to gain security clearance;

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a construction or project engineering role (electrical).
• Strong knowledge of LV & MV power distribution systems.
• Experience working with subcontractors and managing technical packages.
• Ability to manage programme, cost and technical risk.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Knowledge of UK/European standards and regulations (ATEX/DSEAR desirable).
• CSCS card essential.
• Ability to gain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in planning, execution and delivery of electrical works.
• Manage design reviews, technical queries and installation assurance.
• Coordinate subcontractors and supply chain to meet programme and quality targets.
• Oversee procurement, material delivery and package management.
• Review and produce key documentation (WPPs, ITPs, RFIs, drawings).
• Monitor progress, identify risks and support cost and programme control.
• Lead supplier engagement including technical evaluation and FATs.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and client stakeholders.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
