Job summary

Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick (BBK) is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and coordinate engineering across a portfolio of Sellafield projects, delivering safe, efficient, and high‑quality outcomes. You will oversee design and engineering activities, manage internal and external resources, and drive engineering delivery from pre‑construction to completion, setting governance and program plans.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional engineering qualification; chartered status desirable.
• Significant experience leading engineering functions in regulated industries.
• Proven track record managing multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Strong design development, reviews and governance experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering functions across a portfolio of Sellafield projects.
• Act as principal engineering interface between BBK, clients and stakeholders.
• Support bid submissions and work-winning activities aligned with project strategy.
• Lead and present engineering updates at customer and management meetings.
• Develop engineering strategies, design management and quality plans.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver project requirements.
• Ensure documentation and work packs are on time and within budget.
• Identify and implement Modern Methods of Construction (DfMA, PPMOF).
• Oversee planning, risk management and technical delivery through lifecycle.
