Job summary

Belcan Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead to join a major long-term energy and industrial project based in Reading. This site-based role with occasional home-working flexibility offers a 12-month contract with potential extension.

You will lead electrical power systems work, oversee contractor activities, and guide design and protection scheme reviews to ensure safe, reliable delivery.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Experience with power systems, protection schemes, relay selection, UPS and generation.
• Experience in large-scale process/energy environments; knowledge of IEEE/IEC standards.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across electrical power systems and oversee contractor activities.
• Guide design development and review protection schemes to meet project standards.
• Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of electrical systems across the lifecycle.
• Perform power system design and analysis, equipment selection, and protection strategy review.
• Develop engineering standards and manage risk and technical assurance throughout the project.
