Senior Electrical Engineer: Water & Wastewater Projects

Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Southern Water framework, based between Chichester / Falmer / Chatham. The role is predominantly site-based with a 45-hour working week and the opportunity to lead electrical teams across projects.

You will review drawings, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate schemes with project, design, commissioning and operational teams. A comprehensive set of electrical qualifications and driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading electrical installations on mid-to-large industrial, water, wastewater or process-sector projects.
• Strong practical knowledge of electrical installation, inspection, testing, commissioning and safe isolation requirements.
• Ability to interpret electrical system drawings, specifications and other technical documentation.
• Proficiency in reviewing RAMS, safe systems of work, permit arrangements, inspection/test plans, quality records and handover documentation.
• Familiar with CDM regulations, WIMES specs and Southern Water design standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning, reporting and problem-solving skills with IT/document management capability.
• Holds a valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily electrical installation activities with supervisors, subcontract labour and suppliers.
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications and submittals; escalate design/constructability issues promptly.
• Ensure RAMS, safe systems of work, permit requirements and relevant legislation are followed.
• Provide visible leadership for health, safety, environment, quality and wellbeing; drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor works and quality; ensure inspections, test plans and documentation are completed accurately.
